Diving is possible year-round when daily sea state and tides permit. Cooler thermoclines and the main mola mola observation season are generally June or July through October, while manta rays may be present year-round; wildlife encounters are never guaranteed.

The bay’s appearance can hide strong current outside. Follow the guide’s turn point, avoid being swept into the channel and use an SMB for boat pickup.
A flexible setup works best: use a macro lens for small subjects on sand, rubble and coral, or wide angle for the broader reef structure. Maintain stable trim, avoid stirring sediment and never move or touch wildlife for a photograph.
