Diving is possible year-round when daily sea state and tides permit. Cooler thermoclines and the main mola mola observation season are generally June or July through October, while manta rays may be present year-round; wildlife encounters are never guaranteed.

Current can change unexpectedly and the steep slope can pull attention into depth. Stay close to the guide, monitor depth and use an SMB.
A flexible setup works best: use a macro lens for small subjects on sand, rubble and coral, or wide angle for the broader reef structure. Maintain stable trim, avoid stirring sediment and never move or touch wildlife for a photograph.
Secret Jetty is a muck, pier pillars, black-sand slope dive in Tanah Ampo, Amuk Bay, with a working depth range of approximately 3–20 m. Seahorse Bay is a muck, sandy slope, seagrass dive in Kecinan Bay / Teluk Cheningan, northwest Lombok mainland, with a working depth range of approximately 3–25 m. Alam Batu is a house reef, coral garden, sandy slope dive in Kubu, with a working depth range of approximately 3–30 m.
